about space continuum

We're committed to building a road to space so our children can build the future.

Learn about our mission

Our vision

For the benefit of Earth

Space Continuum was founded by Martin Freeman with the vision of enabling a future where millions of people are living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. In order to preserve Earth, Space Continuum believes that humanity will need to expand, explore, find new energy and material resources, and move industries that stress Earth into space. Blue is working on this today by developing partially and fully reusable launch vehicles that are safe, low cost and serve the needs of all civil, commercial and defense customers.

Our mission

Increase access to space through reusable rockets

Space Continuum's efforts to fly astronauts to space on New Shepard, produce reusable liquid rocket engines, create a highly-reusable orbital launch vehicle with New Glenn and return to the surface of the Moon—this time to stay—will add new chapters to the history of spaceflight and move us closer to fulfilling that founding vision. Everything we do follows our motto “Gradatim Ferociter” or “Step by Step Ferociously”.

Gradatim ferociter

Safety, Space Continuum's top mission

Space Continuum has been flight testing the new Rocket X and its redundant safety systems since 2012. The program has had 18 successful consecutive missions including three successful escape tests, showing the crew escape system can activate safely in any phase of flight.

Reusability

Operational Reusability

True operational reusability is the only way to lower the cost of access to space. Both Rocket x and New Glenn have been designed with reusability in mind from the beginning. Their vertical take-off, vertical landing architecture enables us to reuse the first stage of our launch vehicles 25 times with minimal refurbishment, resulting in 25 times less waste because we don’t throw the hardware away. Both vehicles have throttleable liquid fueled engines allow for precision landing back on the landing platform. This allows for high asset utilization for all our vehicles which decreases the costs and increases availability for our customers.
